At the beginning of November our Marlie -who you may recall is at the source of that great 2009 project of embroidered banners to celebrate the fondation of the Cluny abbey, 1100 years ago- was having her birthday. I took part several times in the banner projects, and of course I could not but take part in the plot set up by a group of her friends, and which consisted in gathering plenty of embroidered birthday cards and envelopes for her.
Mon enveloppe... (vieux) modèle "A pixie for all seasons: Fall pixie", de Bent Creek, brodé en 1/1 sur une bande de lin ensuite doublée de tissu et montée en enveloppe. Carte postale, Reflets de Soie.
Here's my envelope. I chose a (very old) pattern by Bent Creek: A pixie for all seasons- Fall pixie. Stitched in 1 over 1 on a linen band which was then lined with fabric and sewn on both sides to form the envelope. Postcard from Reflets de Soie.
In addition to the envelopes some friends also stitched for Marlie her own private mini-banner! Pics of the banner and all the envelopes on Marlie's and Véronique's blogs!
Je vous souhaite un bon dimanche !
Have a lovely Sunday!
