Anonyme, 1761

Un autre sampler de ma collection, daté de 1761 mais anonyme et non localisé. Certains bleu et rouge ont très bien résisté au temps, d'autres couleurs ont passé.

A new sampler from my collection, dated 1761. It is both unnamed and non-located. Some blue and red colours are still bright, whereas others have faded.

Autour d'une composition centrale originale dans un ouvrage finalement très scolaire, on retrouve les motifs traditionnels des ouvrages de cette époque : oiseaux, fleurs, paniers de fruits, arbre de vie, maison.

The tradional patterns found in antique samplers from this period (birds, flowers, tree of life, and the house) are gathered around an original central composition which shows a little creativity in a very scholar piece of work.
